Joseph Persico (1930-2014) was an author, researcher, and former speechwriter for Vice President of the U.S. Nelson A. Rockefeller. Persico’s works focus on espionage and include the books, Nuremberg: Infamy on Trial, Roosevelt’s Secret War: FDR and World War II Espionage, Piercing the Reich: The Penetration of Nazi Germany by American Secret Agents During World War II, My Enemy My Brother: Men and Days of Gettysburg, and Roosevelt’s Centurions.

Persico’s Montgomery Fellowship was part of the lecture series, “Intelligence: The Need to Know,” during which he delivered the lecture, “Roosevelt’s Secret War: FDR and World War II Espionage.”
