Aloisio Cabalzar is a social anthropologist who came to Dartmouth as part of an event titled, “Amazonian Perspectives/Amazonian Prospects,” which was co-sponsored by the Montgomery Endowment and addressed issues like sustainable development, human rights, education, and cultural preservation. Cabalzar is part of the Sociambiental Institute (ISA) and has worked for many years with the indigenous Tuyuka people of Brazil and Colombia.
