Hortense Spillers, the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor Emerita from Vanderbilt, whose pioneering work on arts and letters from an African American perspective have launched hundreds of careers and conversations. Spillers will be affiliated with the Department of English and Creative Writing.
